Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) China is jointly owned by two partners – Carlson Wagonlit Travel (50%) and China Air Service Ltd. (50%).
The two companies entered into partnership in 1996, and established their joint venture in 2003 in Beijing, under approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). It was the first joint venture between Chinese and foreign companies to be given an air agency license by the CAAC.
Our company’s full legal name is China Travel Management Services Co., Ltd. Our commercial trading name is Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) China.
We’re proud to have grown significantly in the last 13 years. We have a very high client retention rate (over 98% in 2012), and we have developed a management structure that allows departments to cooperate smoothly, providing local solutions for clients in China as well as global-level functions as part of the wider Carlson Wagonlit Travel team.

We’re continually investing in technical updates, improvements and innovations, both for our internal systems and to the technology we offer to our customers.
Our online booking systems allow customers in China to have more control over their travel plans and savings. As of 2012, 60% of our domestic travel bookings were done through our online booking system – an industry-leading achievement.
In January 2013 we launched a CWT mobile application for IOS and Android devices named “CWT Online China”, “CWT在线” in Chinese, and available in Chinese and English. This launch further signifies CWT China’s commitment to continuous innovation and positions mobile solutions as an integral part of its offering.
The app has also been certified and passed the security testing based on industry standards (Mobile OWASP Top 10).
